To soothe my jangled nerves,
I wandered listlessly.
Crossing the confines of civility,
I found myself in a labyrinth of green.
The dark wood lay in full chaste
The cool breeze caressing.
The foliage kissing each other tenderly.
There were careless whispers, daunting stares;
Under the canopy of darkness,
the dancing glow worms flash with frenzy.
The conspiratory spider fails to snare me.
I gloat over my mortal strength.
In want of a whiff of the pristine air,
I flared my nostril,only to smell toxin.
Looking around for the venomous ivy,
I realized, it was only a stale human breath.
